Dead Quiet00

This policy sets out when you can cancel an order with Dead Quiet Studio Ltd and when we will refund you. It covers our audio software and our studio services. It applies alongside your legal rights, which it does not take away.

Last updated 11 August 2026.

1. Software, plugins and licence keys

Our plugins are digital products. You download them and we issue a licence key by email, usually within a few minutes of payment.

Try it before you pay

Every plugin we sell has a free, fully featured demo. We would rather you install it, run it on your own material and decide, than buy on trust and ask for your money back. The demo is the refund policy working properly. If you have not tried the demo yet, please do that first.

Your right to cancel, and why it ends at download

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 in the UK, and equivalent consumer law in the EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online and get a refund. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once the download begins, provided you have agreed to it and acknowledged that you lose the right to cancel.

By completing a purchase you are asking us to begin supplying the software immediately, and you accept that your 14 day right to cancel ends once the download or licence key is issued. If you would rather not give up that right, do not complete the purchase. Email us and we will take the order manually.

This is standard for downloadable software and it is why the free demo exists.

When we do refund

We will refund you in full, within 14 days of purchase, in any of these cases:

  • You were charged twice for the same product, or bought a product you already own.
  • Your licence key never arrived and we cannot deliver a working one.
  • The plugin will not run on a system we say we support, and we cannot fix it with you. Supported systems are listed on each product page. We will always try to solve it first, because usually we can.
  • The product is faulty or not as described.

Outside those cases, and once a licence key has been issued and activated, we do not offer refunds on software. Changing your mind, buying the wrong plugin, or deciding you do not use it are not grounds for a refund, because the demo lets you check all of that at no cost.

Licence keys

A licence key is personal to you. Sharing, reselling or publishing a key ends the licence with no refund. If you think your key has been compromised, email us and we will reissue it.

2. Faulty or misdescribed products

If something we sold you is faulty or not as we described it, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to a repair, a replacement or a refund. Tell us what is wrong, what you are running it on and what you expected, and we will put it right.

3. Studio services

Mixing, mastering and production work is quoted individually.

  • Before we start. Cancel at any point before work begins and any deposit is returned in full.
  • Once work has begun. A deposit covers time already booked and spent, so it is not refundable, but we will always talk about it rather than hide behind a policy.
  • Revisions. Revisions are included as set out in your quote. If the result is not right, tell us and we will keep working on it. We would rather fix a mix than refund one.
  • Delivered work. Once final files are approved and delivered, the fee is not refundable.

4. How to ask for a refund

Email mgmt@deadquiet.studio with:

  • Your order number
  • The email address you used at checkout
  • What went wrong, in as much detail as you can manage

We aim to reply within two working days. If a refund is due we will process it within 14 days of agreeing it.

5. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method. We do not refund to a different card or account. Depending on your bank, it can take up to 10 working days to appear.

6. Chargebacks

If you have a problem, please email us before contacting your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee and takes weeks to resolve, and almost every issue we have ever had was solved in one email. If a chargeback is raised on a valid, delivered order, the associated licence key will be deactivated.

7. Your legal rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. If you are in the UK you can get free advice from Citizens Advice. If you are in the EU you can use your national consumer protection body.
